3Keel facilitate WWF/M&S landscapes event

18th October 2016

On October 18th, 3Keel facilitated a Landscapes Approaches workshop in London for more than 40 representatives from business, NGOs, the public sector and academia. The workshop was convened by WWF-UK and Marks & Spencer and provided a space for participants to explore the theoretical and practical implications of creating landscape-scale solutions to sustainable land use challenges. A summary of the event outcomes has now been published by WWF-UK – along with a introduction to the concept of ‘landscape approaches’.

As a result of the workshop, we are exploring the potential to launch a ‘Landscapes Network’, bringing together interested representatives from business, NGOs, academia and the public sector, to provide a forum for continued learning and knowledge exchange.

3Keel has been at the forefront of identifying opportunities and building partnerships to unlock the opportunities of landscape collaboration, including authoring a report on developing models for UK landscape collaboration for the National Centre for Universities and Business. We hope to continue this work through the Network and other projects that are currently in planning stages.

WWF-UK agricultural commodities manager Dr Emma Keller has also blogged on the event – which can be read on LinkedIn here.

The success of the landscape agenda will be determined by the strength of the partnerships formed
