George Merryweather
Project Manager
George joins 3Keel on a fixed term basis (maternity cover), leading on the Podback scheme management and having recently completed Senior Project Management roles at Danone UK (22-23) and Nestle UK (19-22). George has been in Project Management for around 10 years working on diverse portfolios of projects from restaurants to yogurts.
Most recently, at Danone UK George was responsible for the sustainability project portfolio including reducing packaging & inks, increasing recycled content, reducing any possible product cost increases in response to world pricing and scarcity challenges, reformulating recipes with core ingredients sourced in Russia/Ukraine and championing recyclability in the Euro zone forum.
At Nestle UK, George was the Innovation Project Manager for Nestle Nutrition Division (baby milk/food) driving sustainability whilst targeting profit margins, with a 50+ project portfolio to manage across the full lifecycle. Prior to that, George was a PM in the Beverages Division, working across various coffee brands, from project idea to launch. During this role George worked with 3Keel to create the Podback entity and worked towards the first local authority and recycling bag trials.
Before joining Nestle, George worked at Merlin Entertainments for 11 years in both Project Management and Accounting roles (CIMA qualified Accountant) in the Global commercial teams. George’s Project Management portfolio included developing, launching and supporting over 40 new restaurants and food unit openings in theme parks and attractions around the world.
George has a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance from The Nottingham Trent University. Outside of work George can usually be found on the sidelines of a football or hockey pitch, volunteering for the local primary school or being team manager for various football teams in the local area.
