Maddy Diment

Analyst

Maddy works as part of the Sustainable Commodities team, specialising in soy. Her work focuses on collecting data for the annual retailer soy report. This report helps to illuminate the complex challenge of sourcing sustainable soy, and to communicate the ways in which soy production contributes towards global deforestation.

Maddy joined 3Keel straight after finishing her Geography BA at Oxford University. She did her dissertation on the role digital food-sharing apps (like OLIO and Too Good to Go) have on reducing food waste in Oxford. Undertaking this research exposed her to a number of critical issues within the food system, and has since motivated her to start a career within the sustainable food sector.

She is particularly interested in understanding how to make food systems more resilient, and has spent time contributing to these discussions at the Food Systems Transformation Group (University of Oxford) where she was a research assistant.
