Mark has a successful 25-year track record in identifying, managing, communicating and, above all, finding solutions to difficult environmental and sustainable development issues. During his career he has advised a range of different organizations from UN agencies, the European Commission and UK government departments; to major international brands and well-known international NGOs.
He has spent the last twelve years at UK sustainability charity, WRAP, where his most recent role was as Special Advisor, Product Sustainability, in which he led work to establish and manage their Product Sustainability Forum, helped shape the delivery of the UNEP’s 10 Year Framework of Programmes on SCP, and negotiated and implemented the Courtauld Commitment. Prior to this Mark spent 8 years at British Standards Institution leading its work on international environmental and sustainability standards and projects. Before working on environmental and sustainability issues, Mark’s roots were in the international finance: covering foreign exchange and commodities markets.
His strengths lie in combining policy, business, technical, commercial and cultural perspectives to find creative solutions to sustainability challenges, often bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders to collaborate and agree common sustainability-driven goals; and then delivering them through practical projects and programmes of work. As part of his role as Partner at 3Keel, Mark currently holds several board, trustee and advisory positions including at Tesco PLC, Groupe Danone, FSC-UK and the Food and Climate Research Network.
