Nice to meet you Amy!
Nice to meet you, too.
Why this role?
I enjoyed studying geography and always found myself intrigued with the intricacies of the field. Studying geography sparked my interest in the natural world and gave me a basic understanding of the pillars of sustainability And I liked the idea of an apprenticeship – they’re designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to be successful in a working environment. This is important to me because it has provided me with the opportunity to gain more confidence whilst getting ‘hands-on’ practical experience in a real job role.
Why did 3Keel appeal?
I chose to work with 3Keel for my apprenticeship for many reasons. One of them being their values – Firstly, curiosity and practicality. They encourage colleagues as well as clients to ask questions and be creative in their thinking but always remember that the work they are doing must be taking realistic steps to create a world we want to live in. I have always wanted to make a difference for the environment but it is easy to sit back and question what impact one person can have across the world but 3Keel are enabling not only me but people all across the world to make a difference by allowing us all to ask questions and expand our knowledge showing us what we can do to make an impact.
How’s it going so far?
I have only been with 3Keel for a short time, already I have been shown so much care and everyone has expressed a willingness to help me wherever and whenever I need it. They have made me feel at ease and this motivates me to work harder and prove I can become a valued member of their team.
We’re all ‘Working From Home’ at the moment – how are you finding this?
I love the quiet atmosphere of working from home. Without the distractions of an office, I am able to stay focused on my work and complete tasks quickly. I have ensured that I have a structured routine to make sure I stay motived and happy as well as giving myself a healthy work-life balance which 3Keel heavily support.
How do you stay engaged and connected with your colleagues when WFH?
Lots of my colleagues have taken the time to virtually introduce themselves to me and have been offering to help me where I need it. Everyday there is a coffee morning everyone is welcome to attend, whilst working from home it is important to remember to take breaks and the coffee morning is a great opportunity to do that as well as get the chance to have fun and talk about non-work related subjects.
What’s your ultimate ambition?
I’d love to become an expert in one of 3keel’s practice areas in the long term, but I know the first step is to build a solid foundation and learn the basics which is why this apprenticeship is the perfect opportunity. Before applying for this role, I saw 3Keel could offer me exposure to a variety of areas, which is something I liked.
What do you do when you’re not working?
When I am not working, I spend most of my time with my family as I have a little boy who is 3 years old. Together we enjoy days out, baking and walking our family dog through the countryside. I also enjoy reading Greek mythology, my favourite being an epic poem The Odyssey by Homer.
Thanks Amy, we’re really excited to be working with you
Thank you for the opportunity, I am excited for what is to come.
