Welcome to 3Keel! How has your time been so far?

I’ve had an amazing start to my career at 3Keel, as the company residential took place at the start of my second week. Meeting 60+ colleagues, learning about the practice areas, hearing the directors talk about their hopes and aims for the future was about as perfect an induction as I could get…and huge fun too, of course, with the socialising and great food!

What have you started working on?

As Head of Communications, my priority is getting ‘under the skin’ of the company to tease out the strategic priorities that communications most urgently needs to support, as well as cracking on with some of the immediate communications tasks and activities, such as working with the comms crew to populate our internal and external channels with news and views.

What are you looking forward to most about working for 3Keel?

As well as the obvious one of getting to work with inspiring and lively people, for me it’s two things: building up a more sophisticated and nuanced knowledge base around climate change, sustainability and all the associated practice areas; using my experience and knowledge to make an impact, both in supporting 3Keel’s strategic objectives but more widely on raising awareness of the critical issues you’re working on.

Who or what inspired you to work in sustainability?

I have become increasingly aware of and concerned about the shocking lack of action on climate change at government and international levels. My last permanent role was within a large corporate that was good on sustainability but it just didn’t feel enough to be working on the corporate side, as it was never the number one priority among my immediate colleagues. It’s amazing to land in a place where I’m surrounded by colleagues taking action every day.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do?

Spend time with friends (that includes dogs, so hit me up if you need a dog-sitter, as I don’t have one of my own) – that’s where I get my energy and inspiration from. Love going to live music and travelling with friends. And my main hobby is writing…on my second novel but it’s taking a long time to get written!
