Welcome to 3Keel! How have your first weeks been?
Great thank you! I’ve already visited the Long Hanborough and Bermondsey offices and met lots of very friendly team members on an away day to Bristol. Everyone has been super welcoming and I’m really excited to get started.
What have you started working on?
I’ve been brought onto a relatively new project, reviewing a company’s greenhouse gas footprint and supporting them with SBTi targets, so I’m excited to see how the project develops and learn what is required at each stage. Alongside that, I’ve been getting stuck into a research task around circular economy frameworks and taken on various data analytics tasks across a range of projects. I already feel like I’ve learnt a lot!
What are you looking forward to most about working for 3Keel?
Learning from the huge wealth of experience and expertise within the 3Keel team and gaining exposure to a wide variety of practice areas. In particular, I’m excited to get involved in carbon foot-printing, climate risk analysis and life cycle assessments and work with a diverse range of clients.
Who or what inspired you to work in sustainability?
Probably religiously watching Planet Earth anytime I was off school sick or following the lives of big cat families in the Masai Mara on the TV series, Big Cat Diary. I also have a big passion for the underwater world. After University I spent two months’ in Madagascar carrying out reef surveys on a local marine protected area. Witnessing first hand the damage that unsustainable fishing practices and rising sea temperatures was having on the marine environment has motivated me to pursue a career within the environmental and sustainability sector.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do?
I love playing sports, going to live music and exploring new places, both above and below sea level. Spending time with friends and family is very important to me. My family is based on the Isle of Wight so I enjoy going down when I can for some sea swimming, sailing, and long beach walks.
