Welcome to 3Keel! How have your first days been so far?
It’s been great getting to know everyone and gaining a better insight into 3Keel’s values and ways of working. (Also, loved the Long Hanborough office snacks!)
What have you started working on?
I’ve started working on a project for a large UK food retailer, reviewing their existing forest policy with a view to helping them update the policy for 2025. I’ve also been involved in some of 3Keel’s work on supply chain transparency coalitions, such as the Palm Oil Transparency Coalition and the Soy Transparency Coalition.
What are you looking forward to most about working for 3Keel?
3Keel is known for its high-quality, rigorous and engaging work in commodity supply chains. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside so many highly motivated and intelligent people, and am most looking forward to learning from them.
Who or what inspired you to work in sustainability?
I’ve always been really interested in women’s rights, and a few years ago I realised that two of the biggest threats to gender equality in the 21st century are climate change and nature degradation. From there, I started reading more about the inspirational people working in sustainability, and I decided that I wanted to join them, helping to work towards a more harmonious and equitable future.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do?
Running (though don’t get excited marathon runners – 5k is my preferred distance!), painting, and hanging out with friends, family and my grumpy cat in my garden. I also volunteer at a community farm in South London, where I’m currently learning a lot about how to plant and grow butter beans!
