Welcome to 3Keel! How has your day been so far?

Good thanks, today I’m finishing off an Excel tool to automate making some graphs we produce for a carbon footprint, to hopefully save some people a bit of time. I also had an introductory client meeting this morning and need to finish a couple of tasks from last week.

What have you started working on?

I’m currently working on some carbon footprinting projects for several clients. We’re in the middle of a complex emissions reductions model which is very interesting, if not a bit confusing at times! A few of us in the Climate Change team are also looking at how we can improve the way we carbon footprint with some automation.

What are you looking forward to most about working for 3Keel?

Working with some awesome people who are passionate about climate change! Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming since I started, so it’s great to be a part of that community.

Who or what inspired you to work in sustainability?

In my final year of university I did a module on climate change mitigation, the lecturer was awesome and really kick started my enthusiasm about sustainability. At my previous role I was drawn to working on environmental based initiatives and so thought I should make it my whole job!

When you’re not working, what do you like to do?

My partner and I have just come back from a three month trip cycling our tandem all around Europe, which was amazing! (Predictably) I love getting outside on my bike or on foot and enjoying the nice views around Oxfordshire. I’m also very interested in urbanism and volunteer for the Oxford Cycling Campaign (Cyclox) who do great work improving the cyclability around Oxford.

For those wanting to learn more about sustainability, what key resource (tv, film, book, podcast, etc.) can you recommend?

I love the youtube channel ‘Climate Town’, it’s US focused but the content is very entertaining, as well as very informative. I recently read “This Changes Everything” by Naomi Klein which was a tough read at times due to the hard hitting nature, but it really influenced my whole view on climate change and society as a whole.
