Welcome to 3Keel! How have your first days been so far?

They have been great. Everyone has been very warm and welcoming. I spent some time in the Oxford and London offices and it’s been great getting to know the team.

What have you started working on?

I have started working on a cocoa project, currently finalising questionnaires that we send to cocoa traders. As part of this I have been learning a lot about cocoa as a commodity and the complexities that exist in the cocoa supply chain as a system. It has been interesting to learn about the players supply chain and the challenges faced by the cocoa farmers.

What are you looking forward to most about working for 3Keel?

I’m most looking forward to collaborating with a group of bright, ambitious and caring human beings who are motivated about the impact they have on our planet. I’m also looking forward to getting stuck into a lot of interesting projects and learning about different parts of sustainability. Everyone here is very knowledgeable and happy to share their knowledge with the team.

Who or what inspired you to work in sustainability?

Several things inspired me to work in sustainability. In 2013 I had the opportunity to sail around the world as part of the Clipper Race. That year gave me a deep appreciation for our oceans, wildlife and natural resources. In 2020/2021 I took part in the On Purpose Associate programme, a year long career changing programme for the social and environmental impact space. The two work placements at purpose driven organisations, training, mentoring and coaching inspired me to want to dedicate the next part of my career to sustainability.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do?

I like spending time outside in nature with my family and friends – going for walks, spending time on Cornish beaches or swimming in the ocean. I also love running and yoga.
