LENs has strengthened its Senior Leadership Team with the appointment of Emilien Hoet as Strategy Director. He has been brought in to scale the impact of LENs across the UK, Europe and into new regions.
Emilien is a self proclaimed ‘sustainability geek’ and was most recently the UK’s MD for ClimatePartner (advisory firm). Prior to that he worked at Provenance (ethical sourcing), Vita Mojo (software) and CrowdCube Capital (crowdfunding investment platform). He is also the Co-Founder of the Carbon Accounting Alliance, of which 3Keel is a member.
Emilien has a rare combination of expertise in GHG management, entrepreneurship, experience working in software and applied work in the investment sector.
Since its inception in 2021, LENs has generated €24m of funding for regenerative agriculture practices on 300 farms, covering more than 43,500 hectares. The 2025 LENs trade is currently underway in six regions – East of England, Yorkshire, Hungary, Italy and Poland – with funding expected to be at least €17m. A new network is set to launch in Scotland this month, and work is underway to develop further LENs in Wales, Ireland, Spain and the Netherlands.
Emilien is a key member of the strategic team that will lead LENs’ go-to-market and tech strategy, fundraising and governance.
Donald Lunan, LENs CEO, says of Emilien’s appointment: “LENs has had a transformational year, and Emilien joining is crucial to support our plans to expand into new regions. He will work closely with the LENs team to build the resource base and the tools we need to achieve our ambitions.”
Emilien is a passionate advocate for whole systems change, saying: “When it comes to our food supply chains, it’s time to invest in resilience. We need big capital flows to regenerate the land. And collaboration is vital to unlocking this investment – global companies working in partnership with local stakeholders and with overall landscape health and productivity in mind. LENs is at the forefront of bringing about the required shift in thinking and ways of working, to make this happen at scale.”
