Richard is a founding partner at 3Keel and has been working in agri-food sustainability for a decade. He started his work in the sector as a farm conservation advisor at the Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) – working with UK farmers on a range of priority environmental issues including biodiversity, water and greenhouse gas emissions. On leaving FWAG he worked for an Oxford-based supply chain advisory firm as a senior consultant before setting-up 3Keel in 2013.
Richard has a BSc in Microbiology and Biochemistry from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London. Before working in the agri-food sector Richard worked as a professional journalist for The Press Association and has a postgraduate diploma in Print Journalism.
Richard is recognised within the sustainability sector as a highly skilled researcher and communicator with an in-depth knowledge of agricultural production systems, consumer goods supply chains and associated business risks and opportunities. Equally at home in wellies or smart shoes, Richard combines a grounded understanding of primary industries with experience of working at senior levels in some of the largest retailers and food manufacturers.
Since founding 3Keel he has worked with a wide range of private and public sector clients including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, WRAP, WWF-UK and Nandos.
