Ruth Jenkins

Consultant

Ruth is a member of the Sustainable Commodities team at 3Keel, where she works to enhance transparency and reduce the environmental impact of forest-risk commodity supply chains. Currently, she is focused on supply chain reporting and an EUDR due diligence project, addressing critical sectors such as beef, soy, paper, cocoa, and coffee for a multinational food business.

Ruth has a decade of professional experience. Most recently, she worked for a regenerative agriculture start-up. Prior to that, she was a member of the senior leadership team for a premium food brand, where she was instrumental in launching a retail proposition from scratch. Her career began in management consulting, where she worked with major retailers such as M&S and Waitrose in project management, change management, and communications roles.

Ruth recently graduated from the University of Exeter with a Master’s degree in Global Sustainability Solutions where she achieved a distinction. During her studies, she developed a keen interest in how systems thinking can be used to identify key intervention points that can transform food systems to be more just and sustainable. She partnered with the Met Office for her thesis to analyse how climate change affects the UK’s brassica supply chain. Ruth also holds a BSc (first class) in Natural Sciences from the University of Bath.
