Sian Allen

Senior Consultant

Sian works as part of the Sustainable Commodities team, helping clients to better understand complex ethical and environmental issues within their supply chain through analysing and presenting data in a meaningful way.

She has taken part in a wide range of different projects, including the soy data collection process, the Soy and Palm Oil Transparency Coalitions and leading the research behind a soy calculator for RTRS. Within 3Keel she works with a wide range of both corporate and NGO clients, including Tesco, M&S and the Retail Soy Group.

Prior to joining 3Keel, Sian gained diverse professional experience in the Charity, Education and Hospitality sectors, where she developed a flair for innovation, developing and improving systems within organisations and training stakeholders to adapt to new systems. She also spent some time as a chef running a busy commercial kitchen and designing menus based around local seasonal produce, prompting her interest in food supply chains.

She developed this interest through an MSc in Food Policy at City University. With a keen interest in the overlap between health and environmental benefits of food choices, she completed a dissertation focused on the barriers which exist to increasing fruit and vegetable consumption in children. This is a continuing passion and she is currently volunteering with Good Food Oxford as part of a project to increase vegetable consumption across the city. Sian also holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
