The impact of agricultural certification

For two years running 3Keel has supported LEAF’s global impacts reporting with analysis and recommendations for new approaches to monitoring and evaluation. The 2015 impacts report, which was launched at IFE in London, sets out how the charity and certification standard has delivered against its vision of creating a world that is farming, eating and living sustainably.

Highlights of the report included:

• Continued growth in the area of crops grown under LEAF Marque – first time this has reached more than 250,000 hectares
• 30% increase in the area of crops grown under the LEAF Marque standard system in Northern Europe
• Improvements in measuring energy consumption and water efficiency
