3Keel bolsters sustainable commodities team and creates communications function
9 October 2023
So far in 2023, 3Keel has welcomed 19 new colleagues to the team, to help meet the needs of clients, as well as to support an increasing amount of work convening external coalitions, such as the Sustainable Seafood Coalition, for which we took over the secretariat function in January 2023.
Among the colleagues who have joined in recent months, Joel Yap, Livia Barreca & Paul Thlat are our most recent interns, Joel & Paul in our Climate Change practice area and Livia working across both Resilient Agriculture and Climate Change.
Miriam Neale, Senior Consultant in our Sustainable Commodities practice, is providing maternity cover for Becky Hamp, the team lead. Miriam joins 3Keel after nearly a decade of working with International Accord, a legally binding agreement between over 190 garment brands and global trade unions with a mission to ensure safer workplaces in the textile and garment industry, bringing significant expertise in labour rights in global supply chains.
Becca Brown, who has joined Miriam’s team as Junior Consultant, has recently completed an MPhil in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance at the University of Oxford, with a distinction for her dissertation on West Bengal’s Sundarbans Delta.
Gemma Lawrence, consultant in the same practice area, spent 11 years with Creative Carbon Scotland, initiating and leading long-term projects piloting and demonstrating creative approaches to tackling climate and sustainability issues.
In addition to these team expansions, 3Keel has created a new function to move forward the company’s communications as it enters a second decade of business. Carole Scott has joined as Head of Communications, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in the corporate, agency, charity and academic sectors, communicating across a wide range of climate and sustainability issues.
Carole is working across both internal and external communications, with a significant focus on 3Keel’s major landscape innovation programme, Landscape Enterprise Networks (LENs), and communications advice and support for coalitions, special reports and other work that will be of interest to leading news and sector-specific media.
