WEBINAR

Taking action on nature: challenges, solutions and pitfalls

Taking action on nature: challenges, solutions and pitfalls is designed to help organisations move from theory to practice on nature. The webinar explores what effective nature action can look like, drawing on expert insight and a real-world company perspective to illustrate both the opportunities and the obstacles. Hear from Lars Lundahl of Orkla about the approach the company took with 3Keel’s support to identify priority commodities and production locations for supply-chain engagement and action on nature. And hear from 3Keel’s own experts, Samra Mariam and Jamie Graham.

Context

Interest in and attention on nature has surged in recent years. Global frameworks like the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN) have gained prominence and are pushing companies to identify, measure, manage and disclose their dependencies and impacts on nature, including biodiversity, land, freshwater and oceans. At the same time, governments, investors and supply-chain actors are raising expectations for nature-related reporting and action.

This is creating a more complex sustainability landscape for companies already juggling climate targets and other sustainability goals. Nature is now firmly on the agenda, but the practicalities remain challenging, with limited data, competing priorities and multiple evolving standards.

For businesses, the stakes are high. Nature loss creates real risks to operations, supply chains and resilience. But there is also opportunity: companies that act early can protect the resources they depend on, strengthen trust with stakeholders, and build nature into how they create long-term value.

The webinar includes:
  1. An overview of the evolving landscape of corporate nature engagement, including how to navigate common challenges, avoid pitfalls and build a credible and pragmatic approach to nature across the value chain.
  2. An example from Orkla Foods, a leading branded consumer goods company, and their nature journey – why they chose to act, how they are navigating the various challenges and tradeoffs involved in nature action, and how analysis of their key nature impacts and risks is guiding their strategic decision-making and target-setting.
Who should watch?

This webinar is aimed at organisations looking to take action on nature across their value chain, whether at the early stages of exploration or already developing strategies and targets.
