Nick Kuht
Consultant
Nick is a consultant in the Commodity Supply Chains business unit. His work involves supporting clients in better understanding the deforestation and conversion risks associated with their supply chains and the actions they can take to mitigate against these. He has experience of working across multiple commodities (cocoa, soy, wood fibre) and clients (e.g. Marks & Spencer and global FMCG companies). Nick is currently on secondment with a major FMCG company, supporting them with EUDR (the European Union Deforestation-free Regulation) and deforestation-free reporting.
Before joining 3Keel, Nick worked in the FMCG sector for a fresh produce supplier to UK retailers, gaining exposure to global supply chains and compliance. He has also worked as an analyst supporting policy development at the climate action NGO, WRAP.
Nick holds a MBiol, BSc in Biology from the University of Leeds and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Warwick. His PhD research focused on sustainable crop production, carried out in partnership with G’s Fresh – one of Europe’s largest fresh produce businesses – as part of the Waitrose CTP programme. During his PhD he took part in the IFSTAL (Interdisciplinary Food Systems Teaching and Learning) programme, equipping him with skills and experiences to address food system challenges.
