Thomas Richardson
Analyst
Thomas is a member of the Sustainable Commodities Team at 3Keel. His work delivers data-driven insights from across commodity supply chains to address key sustainability challenges, including deforestation risk, traceability and supply chain resilience, with his most recent work focussed on assessing EUDR-related supply disruption risks for a major FMCG brand. Thomas served as part of the technical team on 3Keel’s annual Collective Commodity Reporting programme, which streamlines supplier engagement and data collection across several retail supply chains to map and review client’s sourcing of four major commodities.
Prior to joining 3Keel, Thomas worked at Blue North on the delivery of carbon footprints and climate mitigation strategies for agribusiness in South Africa’s fruit and wine industries. His past experience includes business and process engineering, with a focus on driving automation and integration across business functions. Thomas also served as Project Manager at Wonderbag, a social enterprise producing and distributing low-emission cooking solutions through community-based partnerships and enterprise development initiatives within informal settlements.
Thomas holds an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and a BEng (Hons) in Industrial Engineering from Stellenbosch University.
