Alex has specialist expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and foot-printing and is passionate about progressing sustainability using whole systems thinking.
With a multi-sector background in the process industries, encompassing R&D, product and process design and manufacturing for plastics, chemicals, specialities and FMCG, Alex combines sound understanding of processing, supply, and value chains with sustainability expertise and assesses requirements and implements solutions in a planned, professional and pragmatic way.
Prior to joining 3Keel, Alex ran her own small sustainability consultancy and with a passion for making whole-life thinking the norm, she has been a visiting lecturer for The University of Bath for over 10 years where she has designed, developed, authored and taught courses covering LCA, Environmental Management and Sustainable Development to postgraduate students and corporate clients in UK and internationally.
Alex is a Chartered Chemical Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist, and a Full Member of IEMA. She holds a BEng in Chemical and Bio-Process Engineering, an MSc in Integrated Environmental Management, and a PhD based on the use of LCA for novel technologies, based on food-grade oil emulsions.
