Welcome to 3Keel! How has your day been so far?

It’s been a great start meeting all my new colleagues working in the sustainable commodities practice area and heard a lot about the current projects and future developments.

What have you started working on?

As a team lead and maternity cover, my priority is getting to know the team members and upcoming projects, in particular the collective supply chain mapping programs which 3Keel runs with soy, palm, coffee and cocoa sourcing companies.

What are you looking forward to most about working for 3Keel?

I’m excited about getting to know 3Keel colleagues and clients, as I am really motivated by working with others who are knowledgeable and committed to environmental and social change. I’m looking forward to exploring the opportunities which upcoming due diligence legislation brings to improve environmental and social standards in food supply chains, and also the synergies between social and environmental sustainability.

Who or what inspired you to work in sustainability?

I’ve always had a strong interest in social justice and was fortunate in my early career to work closely with trade unionists, worker rights activists and company representatives who had a vision to get all supply chain actors committed to improving working conditions – in both the clothing and food sectors. The impact of these programs inspired me to continue working within food and clothing supply chains, and I continue to be inspired by all the people who are committed to making supply chains socially and environmentally sustainable.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do?

I try to spend as much time outside as I can with my children, seeing friends, walking, cycling, and since moving to Oxford we’ve taken up sailing on the River Thames.
