Nick McDowall

Senior Consultant

Nick has worked in both the Sustainable Commodities and Climate Change teams at 3Keel. Since joining he has worked on a range of diverse projects, including the annual soy data collection process measuring progress on deforestation free soy in European retail supply chains and developing the British Retail Consortium’s ambitious Net Zero Sector Roadmap.

Nick has worked in the renewables industry for over 10 years, with a focus on innovative technologies. Prior to joining 3Keel, Nick worked for a renewable energy firm that had a particular focus on renewable combined heat and power (CHP) systems – from biomass gasification to anaerobic digestion.

As business development manager, Nick headed the sales department and was responsible for all aspects of project development and client liaison from conception through to completion. The role required a solid understanding of a range of technologies and the ability to establish technologies into emerging markets.

Nick has a BEng (Hons) from the University of Nottingham, where he focussed on the design and implementation of natural and sustainable building services systems. His interest in the renewable energy element of the engineering degree led him to continue his studies and complete an MSc in energy conversion and management.
